For The Love Of Mountain Biking

local real estate agent mountain bikes in Blue mountains

Discovering the thrill of mountain biking in my 20s remains a vivid memory. I can recall the day I acquired my Giant hard tail nearly two decades ago. Albion Hills, conveniently located practically in my backyard at the time, became my sanctuary. Hence delving headfirst into this exhilarating sport. As life’s priorities shifted with the arrival of children, my cycling adventures took a temporary backseat. Yet, upon reaching the milestone of 40, I resolved to reignite my passion for mountain biking.

New bike

Having relocated to Collingwood, I embarked on a quest to unearth trails close to my new abode. To my delight, I stumbled upon a hidden biking haven right in my neighborhood. I embraced the advancements in biking technology. I decided to upgrade to a Scott full suspension bike, acquiring it from Little Ed’s—a decision that proved transformative. The trails that awaited me were nothing short of breathtaking. Mountain biking offered an immersive experience amidst nature’s splendour.

Amazing trails

The network of trails, including the renowned 3 Stage at Pretty River Provincial Park, Highlands Nordic, Duntroon Highlands Golf Course, and Kolapore, became my sanctuary—a place where I found solace and tranquility while navigating the twists and turns amidst majestic trees and challenging terrain. Beyond the physical benefits of mountain biking, it became a form of meditation, allowing me to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life.

Organizations

In Collingwood, the cycling community thrives because of organizations like CORC, which offers members access to meticulously maintained routes and introduces riders to new trails throughout the region. Their inclusive approach caters to riders of all ages and skill levels, ensuring that everyone can partake in the joys of mountain biking.

For those looking to introduce their children to the sport or hone their own skills, RAD Adventures provides comprehensive camps and personalized lessons throughout the year, fostering a love for mountain biking across generations.

For the whole family

Above all, mountain biking is more than just a recreational activity—it’s a lifestyle that fosters camaraderie, fitness, and a deep appreciation for the great outdoors. Whether you’re a seasoned rider or a novice, the trails beckon, promising unforgettable adventures for the whole family. Join me on the trails, and let’s make memories together!
